Our planet is an ocean planet—water covers 70% of the surface, almost all of which is ocean water. While coral reefs take up a tiny fraction of the ocean, they are home to about 25% of known marine species and are used by countless others. Coral polyps are fragile animals, and sadly the reefs are degrading.
