Why Divers Choose Scuba Fun for Key Largo Scuba Diving

Key Largo — the Diving Capital of the World — is home to some of the best scuba diving on the planet. Explore vibrant coral reefs at Molasses Reef, French Reef, and Elbow Reef inside John Pennekamp State Park, dive the legendary Spiegel Grove and Duane wrecks, and visit the iconic Christ of the Abyss statue — all with 30+ feet of visibility year-round inside the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Scuba-Fun offers daily guided and unguided reef and wreck dive trips with a maximum of 4 divers per dive guide — or your full family and friends group — so you experience these waters the way they deserve to be explored, with genuine personal attention underwater.
Spiegel Grove
At 510 feet long, the Spiegel Grove is one of the largest artificial reefs in North America and one of the most celebrated wreck dives in the world. Intentionally sunk in 2002, it now sits in 65–130 feet of water and is blanketed in coral and marine life. Advanced divers can penetrate multiple decks while intermediate divers explore the superstructure and exterior. A Key Largo bucket-list dive.
Molasses Reef
Molasses Reef is one of the most visited dive sites in the world and the crown jewel of Key Largo scuba diving. Located inside John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, this sprawling shallow-to-medium depth reef sits in 20–35 feet of crystal-clear water, making it perfect for divers of all experience levels. Expect vibrant coral formations, sea turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks, and an explosion of tropical fish on every dive. If you only dive one reef in the Florida Keys, make it Molasses.
Christ of the Abyss
One of the most iconic underwater landmarks in the world — and it lives right here in Key Largo. The 9-foot bronze statue stands in 25 feet of crystal-clear water inside John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, arms raised toward the surface, surrounded by coral and tropical fish. A bucket-list moment for divers of every level. Shallow enough for beginners, breathtaking enough for everyone.
French Reef
Known for dramatic swim-throughs, caverns, and archways draped in coral, French Reef offers an underwater landscape that feels genuinely adventurous at every turn. Depths range from 15–45 feet inside the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, with spotted eagle rays, moray eels, grouper, and dense schools of tropical fish around every corner. One of the Florida Keys’ best-kept secrets — and one of our favorite dives.
Duane
The USCGC Duane is one of the most celebrated wreck dives in the Caribbean and a cornerstone of Key Largo scuba diving. This 327-foot Coast Guard cutter was intentionally sunk in 1987 and now rests upright in 120 feet of water, her bow rising to within 60 feet of the surface — blanketed in coral and swarming with goliath grouper, barracuda, and tropical fish. Advanced divers explore the bridge and deck while intermediate divers work the shallower superstructure. Paired with the Spiegel Grove, the Duane makes Key Largo one of the greatest wreck diving destinations on the planet.

Not everyone in your group wants to scuba dive — and that’s perfectly fine. Scuba-Fun offers snorkeling tours in Key Largo for families, beginners, and non-divers who want to explore the stunning protected reefs just offshore without tanks or certification.
Float above vibrant coral gardens, swim alongside sea turtles, and discover the same underwater world our scuba divers explore below.
