We offer a variety of conservation courses to help you become a better steward of the ocean. These courses can be taken on a stand-alone basis or be bundled with other courses including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Fish Identification, Underwater Naturalist, and Digital Underwater Photography.
The conservation courses, like all PADI specialties, count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating!
Dive Against Debris Specialty with Advanced Open Water Diver
If you can’t make it to one of our Dive Against Debris trips, you can select Dive Against Debris as one of your Adventure Dives as part of your Advanced Open Water diver course. Your instructor will teach you how to responsibly and safely remove trash from the ocean, and then you will have the opportunity to do just that on one of our reefs!
Selecting the Dive Against Debris Adventure Dive does not increase the cost of your Advanced Open Water course. However, if you would also like a Dive Against Debris specialty certification, there is a $50 processing fee.
AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty
Sharks and rays are under intensive threat, with some species in danger of extinction. Sadly, many people’s perception of sharks is formed by watching “Jaws” and similarly themed movies. Become an advocate for sharks and rays by taking this specialty course!
During your classroom session, you will learn about threats to sharks and ways you can help. You will then go on a two-tank dive trip to look for sharks, as well as harmful and helpful in-water factors.
Cost: $215 plus tax
Project Aware Specialty
This short class empowers you to develop an action plan based on PADI AWARE’s Ten Tips for Divers to Protect the Ocean Planet. As no dives are required, anyone can take this class, including children too young to dive.
And while you can certainly take this specialty as a stand-alone course, we encourage you to add it to any other class you take with us…from Discover Scuba Diving all the way through your Instructor Development course and beyond!
Cost as a stand-alone course: $125 plus tax
Cost to bundle with any other PADI course: $50 plus tax
