Gear Rentals & Tank Fills

Scuba and Snorkel Gear Rentals 

Scuba-Fun is your local offsite gear rental place where you can rent all scuba and snorkel gear including tanks and weights. All our rental gear is meticulously maintained and is serviced regularly.

Rental rates shown are per trip, or day (24 hours) if you rent for off-site use. Off-site rentals are eligible for a discount if you rent for three days or more except during lobster mini-season. Charter customers receive a discount for rentals with dive trip packages of three or more trips. We usually have plenty of gear available and we can accommodate walk-in customers most of the time. We recommend reserving the gear you need early since we will rent on a first come first serve basis.

IMPORTANT! If you reserve rental gear over “Lobster Mini Season”, which is the last Wednesday and Thursday of July, ahead of time and you do not cancel your reservation until the prior Sunday before Mini Season your reservation is binding and must be paid for in full, even if you do not pick up the rental gear.

Please bring proof of scuba certification for BCD, regulator, and tank rentals. If you need to rent gear for a beginner scuba class with a third-party scuba instructor, we need your scuba instructor to sign off for your gear rental in person.

Rental Return Rules

If you rent it, you pay for it: There are NO REFUNDS FOR UNUSED RENTAL GEAR OR TANKS.

Lobster Mini Season: If you rent for two days, you pay for two days. There are NO EARLY RETURN REFUNDS.

All charter trip gear rentals (items/quantity as per our records) are to be returned no later than 60 minutes after the charter trip has returned (rental period = charter duration am or pm 4 hours + 60 minutes).

Suppose you do not return your gear on time. In that case, we will convert your charter rental to an offsite rental (see below) and charge your credit card on file the corresponding offsite rental amount for each additional rental day, up to three (3) additional rental days beyond your initial rental term.

If you do not return your rental gear after three (3) additional days beyond your initial rental term, we will charge your credit card the replacement cost of the items.

All offsite rentals (items/quantity as per our records) are to be returned within 24 hours of pick-up time (rental period = 24 hours/1 day).

If you do not return your gear on time, we will charge your credit card on file for each additional rental day, up to three (3) additional rental days beyond your initial rental term.

If you do not return your rental gear after three (3) additional days beyond your initial rental term, we will charge your credit card the replacement cost of the items.

All offsite rentals will be charged a 10% cleaning fee based on your first rental day.

Replacement costs are defined as the cost of items, shipping/handling, and any other related costs to replace the item/s, plus a 10% admin fee.

Supplier/manufacturer-mandated minimum order amounts or box/quantity values -if any- will be applied as the item replacement cost.

Should you return rental gear after we charge you for the replacement cost, we will adjust the charge to the corresponding additional rental fee if it is lower than the replacement cost.

Please note that rental gear that is lost or damaged will have to be paid for by you so we can replace it (see ‘replacement cost’ above).

Tank Fills – Air | Nitrox | Trimix

If you own your scuba tanks and need a tank fill, you can have that taken care of at Scuba-Fun.

Please verify that your scuba tank shows a current hydrostatic test date (no older than 5 years) and a current and legible visual inspection sticker issued by a scuba store or tank inspection place. Visual inspection dates must be within one year.

We do not accept VIP stickers that do not show a particular scuba store affiliation or show a generic wholesaler name. It is up to our discretion to reject a tank fill if we do not recognize the visual inspection place, the VIP sticker or hydro date on the tank is illegible, or if the tank is in any other way suspected to have safety issues.

Your tank must show appropriate signage for the type of gas you are purchasing. We also need proof of your scuba certification that corresponds with the type of fill you want to buy and your ID. Please do not send a friend who is not scuba certified or not certified at the required level to have your tanks filled. For example, we will not fill Enriched Air Nitrox without proof of Nitrox certification.

While on most days we can do air and Nitrox fills on short notice, you must call ahead for O2, Helium, or Trimix / partial pressure fills to make sure we have staff on-site that can handle such kinds of fills, or be prepared to leave your tanks with us for a day or two.

All air and Nitrox fills will be charged according to the rate per tank size as shown below. There are no “top-off” rates.
