Do I need a scuba certification to dive?
To participate in our Key Largo dive trips, you must be a certified Open Water Scuba Diver for reef dives. For deep wreck dives, Advanced Open Water certification is required. If you’re not yet advanced-certified but want to experience a deep dive, please contact us — we’ll help you explore your options and make your underwater adventure possible.
I haven’t dived in over two years. Do I need a refresher?
Yes! If it’s been a while since your last dive, we’ll have you do a pool skill review with one of our instructors. You can do a pool-only session or choose our Scuba Refresher package, which also includes an instructor-guided reef dive.
Do I need a dive guide?
Divers under 18 must dive with a guide if they don’t have an adult dive buddy. The same applies if it’s your first dive in salt water or your first dive since completing Open Water training.
If it’s been over two years since your last dive, you’re required to complete a scuba refresher course before diving.
Personal Guide vs. Group Guide vs. Private Guide?
On select Key Largo trips, group guides are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For a more personalized experience, dive with a Scuba-Fun Divemaster or Instructor in small groups (up to six divers), matched for compatible dive levels and experience—for a fee.
Private guide options are also available for individual divers and groups.
Can snorkelers join Key Largo dive trips?
Yes! Non-certified guests can snorkel alongside certified divers or relax on the dive boat, enjoying Florida’s vibrant reefs. Trips are perfect for families and friends, so everyone—certified or not—can share the adventure. Guests must be 5+ years old, and minors under 18 must be with an adult at all times.
Can non-certified guests try scuba diving on Key Largo dive trips?
Yes! Guests can join our Try Scuba Diving program, starting with morning pool training and followed by instructor-guided dives in the afternoon. This way, non-certified guests can dive with friends or family for a safe and unforgettable Key Largo dive experience.
What is the schedule and check-in process?
Trips depart twice daily (8 a.m. & 1 p.m.), with seasonal night dives. Check in 60 minutes early with your certification card. Most trips include two dives, and you can request a dive guide when booking.
Can I rent scuba gear for my Key Largo dive trips?
Yes! You can rent high-quality scuba gear in Key Largo, with sizes for every diver. Check our rental gear section for rates and options to ensure a safe and enjoyable dive.
Is there free parking available?
Yes, free parking is available at the dive shop and the marina.
What are the policies for shallow reef dives?
All divers must present proof of a Scuba Diver (dive guide required) or Open Water Diver certification at check-in. If it’s been over a year since your last dive, we recommend booking a dive guide for at least your first trip back in the water.
You must dive with a guide if it is your first dive after certification or your first dive in the ocean.
Single divers will automatically be assigned a group dive guide for a small fee. Divers planning to dive without a guide must bring a timepiece or dive computer for their dives.

All divers must show proof of Advanced Open Water Diver certification at check-in. If it’s been over a year since your last dive, we recommend booking a dive guide for at least your first trip back in the water.
Single divers will be assigned a group dive guide for a small fee. Open Water Diver-certified divers may join a deep wreck dive if they meet specific requirements—please contact us for details.
All divers must dive with a dive computer. The minimum age is 15 years.
