Scuba Diving in the Florida Keys
Scuba-Fun is partnering with the most prestigious Florida Keys dive shops and boat operators from Key Largo to Key West, allowing us to offer you dives on the most sought-after reef dive sites such as Molasses Reef and Christ of the Abyss and famous shipwrecks like the Spiegel Grove, Eagle, and the Vandenberg in Key West.
Dive trips depart twice daily, typically between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Departure times of night dive trips depend on the time of the year. Check-in time for trips is 60 minutes before departure at our shop location. All trips are two tank charters, meaning you get to do two dives in one trip out. Prices are per person and include tanks and weights for your dives. “Full gear” means BCD, regulator, wetsuit and mask, snorkel, and fins in addition to tanks and weights. Please also refer to our rental gear section for info on renting individual gear items.
Upon check-in, we will need to see your certification card, and we will inquire about the date of your last dive. Dives are not automatically guided, but you can always request a guide for your dives when booking your trips. Please carefully review our dive policies below.

*Scuba-Fun guides are experienced scuba professionals such as Divemasters and Instructors who make sure that you will have the best dive experience with us. Our above-mentioned guide fee is based on two or more divers per guide (never more than six divers per guide). There is a surcharge of $25 per trip for individual divers if there are no other divers wishing to be guided on a particular dive trip.
Guides on specialty charters such as lobster dives are charged $65 per trip per diver based on two or more divers ($90 for individual divers).
Dive Trips in Key Largo, Tavernier, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key & Key West
Rates for diving services differ slightly in different areas of the Florida Keys. The above charter rates reflect starting prices and may be subject to surcharges for charters and rentals south of Key Largo. Please contact us for a quote.
General Dive Policies
- Divers under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by an adult diver and individual divers without a dive buddy are required to take a guide for all booked dives.
- If it has been over two years since the last dive you are required to take a scuba refresher course.
Reef Dives (Open Water Diver level)
- If it has been over a year since the last dive you are required to take a guide for at least your first dive trip out. The same applies if your dive with us will be the first one in salt water or the first one after your training dives for certification.
- Divers will need a timepiece/dive computer for their dives when diving without a guide.
Wreck/Deep Dives (Advanced Open Water Diver level and higher)
- Advanced or higher certified divers need to have proof of one deep dive logged within the last year in order to dive without a dive guide. Open Water Diver certified divers must take a dive guide for all deep dives.
- Each individual diver must have their own dive computer and SMB. No exceptions! These can be rented or purchased at the shop if need be.
- Divers under the age of 15 cannot participate in any deep dives.
