Official Florida Keys Wreck Trek

Key Largo Scuba Diving

Become a Florida Keys Wreck Trekker!

Divers in the Florida Keys have a unique opportunity to explore a string of sunken vessels and artificial reefs, nine of which form the official Florida Keys & Key West Wreck Trek : the Spiegel Grove, Benwood, Duane in Key Largo; the Eagle in Islamorada; the Thunderbolt in Marathon, the Adolphus Busch in the Lower Keys; Joe’s Tug, the Cayman Salvager and the Vandenberg in Key West.

The Wreck Trek is a self-driven trip. Scuba-Fun will arrange for your dives in Key Largo and Islamorada and with our partner dive shops further south. All you have to do is go there and dive! Marathon is about one hour away by car from Key Largo, while Key West will take about 1.5 hours to get to. Many divers choose to stay in Key West for a night for dives south of Marathon.

While the wreck dives in Key Largo and dives to the Vandenberg in Key West are offered daily with almost no exception dives to the other wrecks may not be available on all days. Please inquire with us about availability and options during your stay in the Florida Keys.

All these wreck dives except for the Benwood are considered deep dives with an average of 100 feet of dive depth. Divers must be current in diving and advanced level certified or higher with a deep dive logged within the past year. Please refer to our general dive policies. Some dive operators make diving with a guide mandatory on deep dives.
